Happy Sunday everyone albeit a wet one, so as detailed by our live video this week here is Daveβs fence, Dave had paid a considerable amount of money to another local fencing contractor to put up a close board fence in his garden, and here laid the issue, the fencing contractor put the fence in the wrong location…… some posts were even bolted to next doors wall on their side π others were only 300mm deep in the ground π€¬
Not good and not safe.
Dave got in touch with us late on Wednesday evening we read the documents Dave provided, and it was clear with Daveβs move he was in a tricky spot with time not on his side.
Being reactive to an issue in our mind is most of the time 50% of the solution, we met with Dave on site by 8am and agreed an action plan and work began without delay, having a structure in place with staff and projects means you are able to reconfigure your work load to meet the needs of the business or in this case Daveβs house sale. Supported in our efforts by an on point supplier who ensured material arrived asap, meant this 3 day job was replaced in just over 1.5 days ππͺ roughly half the time contractor 1 took to do the job badly π!
So here lies a lesson to all, study title deeds and have a clear concise conversation with next door and your fencing contractor, a title deed plan is only about Β£15 online and takes 10 mins to download!
A simple 10 min chat and Β£15 can save thousands of pounds further down the line our advice would be if any original concrete demarcation posts exist leave them in to signify where the boundary is, our fencing system cleverly slots around these so you will never know they are there unless you pop you head over and look…… piece of mind.
And now piece of mind for Dave and his neighbour.
We wish Dave and his family all the best With their move and to anyone else in a tough spot give us a call and perhaps we can help you like we did Dave.
